Mini-Conference Committee

Purpose

The Mini-Conference Committee is an Ad-Hoc Committee of Maryland General Service, Inc. The purpose of the Mini-Conference Committee is to plan and present the annual Area 29 Mini-Conference held each spring to prepare the Area 29 Delegate for the General Service Conference. Duties

  • Appointed by the Area Chairperson for a term of one year; it is recommended that the Mini-Conference Chairperson have attended at least one past Northeast Regional A.A. Service Assembly and participated in at least one past Area 29 Regional Panel to prepare the Delegate
  • Attends the Area Assembly and Area Committee meetings
  • Coordinates the planning for location, accommodations, food service, and all other items of planning and preparation required for the Area 29 Mini--Conference, held each spring to prepare the Area 29 Delegate for the General Service Conference

 

  • Prepares the annual Mini-Conference budget request to be submitted to the Finance Committee in October of each year and is prepared with supporting documentation to answer any questions which may be asked during the budget approval process in December
  • Ensures that fliers announcing the Mini-Conference are prepared sufficiently in advance of the Mini-Conference to allow GSRs, DCMs, and Area officers to register for the event and coordinates the registration process with the hotel that is providing accommodations (if necessary), meeting sites, and food service for the Mini-Conference
  • Represents Maryland General Service Area 29 at the following functions:
    • Area 29 State Convention
    • Area 29 Fall Conference
  • Forms a working committee of AA members to assist in carrying out the performance of these responsibilities
